I will talk with you briefly on the phone to find out your reasons for considering therapy and to answer questions concerning fees, insurance coverage, and the best time for your appointment. I have flexible hours and can usually find a time that suits you.
Session duration and
cancellation policy:
Sessions are 45 to 50 minutes long. Group sessions may be an hour and a half. Because I reserve this time for you I need notice of cancellation of an appointment 24 hours in advance to avoid charging you for a missed session. If there are special circumstances that cause you to cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time we can discuss this charge.
Emergencies:
If you have an emergency and need to call me between sessions, please call my office number and I will return your call as soon as possible. If you cannot wait for a return call, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Ending therapy:
You are free to end therapy whenever you choose to. Usually, we will be in agreement about when therapy has reached a conclusion. I will be happy to give you a referral to another therapist at any time you feel that is what you need. There is no guarantee that therapy will solve the issues you are concerned about, but most clients experience intensely satisfying personal growth.
